Smartlead.ai is a popular cold email sending platform.
They became popular due to their extensive API and white labeling options. However, their user interface is complicated, making it difficult for beginners to launch campaigns.
In this article, I share 12 alternatives:
1. Emailchaser
2. Yesware
3. Woodpecker
4. Mailshake
5. Hunter
6. Salesloft
7. Outreach.io
8. OutReachBin
9. Close
10. Reply.io
11. HubSpot
12. Klenty
As the founder of Emailchaser, I can say first-hand that we built Emailchaser to be the simplest tool on the market.
Our user interface allows beginners to launch cold email campaigns with no prior experience.
We also prioritize deliverability, meaning that if you send your cold emails with Emailchaser, they will land in the primary inbox (not spam).
Additionally, Emailchaser has a more robust set of features compared to Smartlead.
Yesware is a good option if you need a tool that only sends campaigns.
It is used directly inside of your Gmail/Outlook account, which isn’t ideal if you are launching multiple campaigns and doing a higher volume.
If you need other features, then you should consider something else.
Woodpecker is a cold email tool that allows you to launch campaigns.
They do not offer a built-in sales CRM, which is an issue, as it forces you to use multiple different tools.
Overall, this is a good choice if you are launching a low volume of cold email campaigns, but it’s not the best for all scenarios.
Mailshake has been around for a long time.
They are popular with medium to large sized businesses.
However, their product has not kept up with recent changes in the cold email industry. They lack crucial features like inbox rotation and an OpenAI integration.
Hunter is a tool that allows you to find email addresses and send cold emails.
Their cold email campaign feature is ok, but it lacks many details that are crucial for deliverability.
Additionally, their email finding tool is less accurate than other providers. You can learn more about this in our article 6 Best Email Finder Tools (Ranked By Accuracy).
Salesloft is popular with enterprise sales teams.
It’s not a good option for people that need to send a higher volume of cold emails.
Salesloft doesn’t offer inbox rotation, which is very important if you plan to contact a large number of prospects.
Outreach.io is similar to Salesloft in terms of their target market.
They are focused on enterprise sales teams.
Their product lacks many modern features that are needed for high volume sending.
OutReachBin allows you to launch cold email campaigns.
Their UI/UX isn’t good, making it complicated for beginners.
They also promote their warm up tool, which I don’t recommend that you use, since email warm up doesn’t work.
Close is a popular sales CRM for small to medium sized companies.
They are a good option for experienced sales people, but if you are new to sales, it’s probably best that you go with a simpler sales CRM (like Emailchaser).
Close doesn’t have advanced features for sending cold emails, like inbox rotation, so I don’t recommend using them.
Reply.io can be used for sending cold emails, but it’s not the best if you are looking to send a high volume of emails.
Additionally, they don’t have a sales CRM, meaning you can’t do everything in one tool.
HubSpot is a well known sales CRM.
It’s popular due to the fact that it offers a lot of features, so companies typically keep everything in HubSpot.
HubSpot is not a good option for cold email, since they do not offer inbox rotation or any advanced features that prevent your emails from going to spam.
Klenty allows you to send cold emails, but similar to HubSpot, they don’t have some crucial features to improve your deliverability.
I don’t recommend that you use Klenty, as there are better alternatives.
Emailchaser is the best alternative to Smartlead.
Emailchaser is easier to use and has better deliverability. To learn more about how Emailchaser prevents your cold emails from going to spam, check out my article 10 Ways That Emailchaser Prevents Your Cold Emails From Going To Spam.
I also recommend that you read my article Does Email Warm Up Work & Is It Necessary? Smartlead promotes the use of email warm up tools, even though they don’t work and can negatively impact your deliverability.
